This is my fifth year with MRGC, my third year as a lead teacher. I am a New Mexico native, born in Dixon, New Mexico. I received my bachelor's degree in Biology from Cornell University in upstate New York. When I came back to New Mexico I completed a year-long training and received my Montessori Lower Elementary teacher certification from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Boulder, CO. Since then I have completed my NM state licensure coursework at UNM and am currently working on a Master's degree in K-8 Education. I bring to the classroom a diverse range of interests and hobbies. They include music, carpentry, nature study, peace education, and foreign travel. I have a major focus on non-violent communication and the creation of a peaceful society. I want my students to learn not only the basic skills they need to find their way in the world, but also how they can help our human community and the natural environment with which we are intertwined.
